At the Old Colony History Museum, located in Taunton, Massachusetts, there is a display of items pertaining to King Philip’s War . Click here for a five-minute video tour of the collection posted on April 15, 2025 by Bryan Burlingham.

The display includes a confirmatory deed (right) signed on March 23, 1663 with King Phillip’s signature confirmed on the bottom as well as some wampum from that period.

The label on the left reads, “The Natives, particularly King Philip and his allies, desired English weapon technology in the years just prior to King Philip’s War.”

To the right of a 1677 map of New England is the original headstone of Edward Babbitt who was killed by the Natives in 1675, possibly just a few days just after the War began.
