Historic Marker Installation at the Barrington Congregational Church, UCC

A group gathered at the Barrington Congregational Church, UCC, to dedicate an historic marker describing the history of the Church whose roots go back to 1711. A group of Baptists and Congregationalists had built their first meeting house north of this site at Nockum Hill. Click here for a 19-minute video of the dedication ceremony held on July 24, 2024.

(Above) The current church building, built in 1806, stands at the corner of Massasoit Avenue and County Road in Barrington, RI, and is often referred to as the “White Church”. Click on the marker for an enlarged view. On the right, Senior Minister Rev. Dale Azevedo welcomes members and friends to the event.
