Dr. David Weed presented at an event organized by the Bristol Historical & Preservation Society at the Historic Statehouse building on September 24, 2018. Click here for a one-hour video of the presentation.

Historical Society First Vice-President (Programs) Dory Skemp and President Juan Mariscal welcome the audience and introduce Dr. Weed.

Dr. weed begins the presentation by talking about Massasoit Ousamequin who welcomed the Pilgrims and kept a peace treaty for over fifty years.

Dr. Weed points to a drawing of what the First Congregational Church might have looked like in 1684 when it was built on the Town Common, the same place where the Statehouse now stands.

Before taking questions from the audience, Dr. Weed describes the Nathaniel Bosworth House, the first colonial house built in the Town of Bristol in 1680.
