Videographer Eric Schatzsucher took a tour of the Mayflower 2, a full scale replica of the original ship from 1620 on which the Pilgrims sailed to America, at a dock in Plymouth, Massachusetts. He then teaches about the complex history of the Pilgrims and Indians and life in 17th century America. Click here for the 14-minute video posted on June 19, 2024 on his YouTube channel.

The Mayflower has been depicted in many paintings over the past 300 years, but it was only when the replica Mayflower was first built in England in 1957 and sailed to Plymouth, Massachusetts that there have been any photographs.

(Above) The replica ship was most recently restored in Mystic, CT, in time for its arrival for the celebration of the 400th anniversary of the 1620 Plymouth landing, which was largely scuttled because of Covid. Ironically, another infectious disease outbreak had occurred in Plymouth between 1616 and 1619, just before the arrival of the English Separatists.
