The Warren Land Conservation Trust recently acquired approximately thirty acres land on the eastern shore of the Palmer River that will be permanently in conservation for all to enjoy. The land has been undeveloped over the past 365 years since the Town of Warren was acquired from the Massasoit Osamequin of the Pokanoket Tribe who had occupied the land for the past 10,000 years. A group of five volunteers continued work on a trail through newly acquired Haile-Nunes property along the Palmer River in North Warren, RI, that leads to an overlook of the River and Tom’s Island. Volunteers will continue to work on the trail so that the public can have access to view this pristine location.
