Three Sisters of corn, beans, and squash that provide nourishment from the garden to the eagle and wild deer, the Pokanoket are connected to their relatives through the Earth and all of its creations. The vivid stories that nature provides for the Pokanoket are integral to their spirituality.

The story of the Three Sisters tells how the Creator sent three messengers with the gifts of corn, beans and squash to feed the Pokanoket people. As they waved to the people from the shoreline, they turned to stone. The story is a reminder that the Creator will provide everything that we need.
