Founding member Helen Hersh Tjader, formerly of Barrington, joined the meeting of the Sowams Heritage Area Project Steering Committee to review both recent and upcoming activities. Rock Singewald, Rev. Charles Hartman, Helen Tjader, Carl Ferreira, Nancy Moore, Dave Norton and Project Coordinator Dave Weed met at the Barrington Public Library on September 24, 2019 to discuss progress on the interpretive markers in Bristol and Warren, the production of tour brochures, linkage with the Providence Cultural Equity Initiative, and the organization of a Friends of the Pokanoket Tribe group. The group then focused on plans for “Before and After the Mayflower: The Rest of the Story” events scheduled for late June in 2020 and 2021 at Burr’s Hill Park. The group will meet next on January 14, 2020.
