Bonnie Warren, who initiated the Historic Preservation Program at Roger Williams University and who worked for many years for the Rhode Island Historical Preservation and Heritage Commission, agreed to review and edits portions of the draft Sowams Heritage Area Interpretive Plan that Project Coordinator David Weed is preparing. “As always, Bonnie provided some critical corrections to the historical narratives in the Plan and added some historic facts that had not been widely know,” noted Weed. Combined with similar reviews by Project Steering Committee members, the finished Plan should be ready for wide distribution to potential collaborators on the Project to create a historic heritage corridor from Bristol to Providence over the next few years. “I am very grateful for all of the input I’ve received over the past three months,” added Weed who expects to release the Plan starting in February..
