Sowams Heritage Area Project Coordinator Dave Weed met with the board of the Warren Preservation Society to request that they serve as the fiscal agent for a Rhode Island Council for the Humanities mini-grant that will be submitted at the end of April. If approved, the grant will fund an initial launch of the project in the fall of 2018 with a press announcement and at least ten “pop-up” events at locations in the eight communities during September, October and November to announce the web page and to distribute materials. A steering committee will be formed in June to guide the development of the launch.
